The Heartsaver CPR AED course is designed to teach basic life support skills to lay rescuers, including those with little or no medical training. This course covers the essential skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies in adults, children, and infants.

During the course, participants will learn how to perform high-quality CPR, use an automated external defibrillator (AED), and relieve choking in a safe, timely, and effective manner. The course also covers how to recognize the signs and symptoms of a heart attack, stroke, and cardiac arrest, and how to activate the emergency medical services (EMS) system.

The Heartsaver CPR AED course is taught through a combination of hands-on practice and video-based instruction. The course can be completed in-person, through a blended learning format (online + in-person skills session), or entirely online with a skills assessment component.

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive an American Heart Association (AHA) Heartsaver CPR AED course completion card, which is valid for two years.
